Aims

• • You will learn about the types of questions that economics is concerned with and some of the key concepts that it uses, particularly as applied to health and health care. You will also learn about the economic evaluation methods to assess the costs and consequences of health care intervention and apply the available tools for critical appraisal of economic evaluations.

    • explain what is health economics
    • explain the different types of health economic evaluations
    • apply the different types of costs and consequences that are included in an economic
      evaluation
    • understand the different methods of valuing costs and benefits
